Bosnia is not a part of European UNION therefore the only accepted currency is the Convertible Mark. The Convertible Mark has a fixed exchange rate against Euro at parity 1 EUR = 1.955583 BAM. There are many exchange offices throughout the city and some of them actually offer lower commissions that the banks.

Tip #4 – Tram ride

Category : Travel Tips

You CAN ride a tram without a ticket (like most locals do) as long as you get out when you see a group of “men in black” on the tram station, but it is not recommended as they particularly like to bother foreigners. You can buy the ticket from the driver.

Tip #3 – Customer service

Category : Travel Tips

In Bosnia there is no such thing as customer service. Customer is not always right, and the staff will simply mirror how you treat them. So be nice to the staff and you will receive top service, be rude and expect nothing less.

Tip #2 – Attitude

Bosnian people are known for their dark sense of humor, stubbornness and kind heart. Threat them nicely and you will be treated twice as nice, underrate them and…well we warned you.
